The winter break has not done Dynamo any good. Against Viktoria Köln, the spectators missed the power soccer. That cost them the lead in the table.

Dynamo Dresden have lost the lead in the 3rd Football League again with their first defeat after nine unbeaten games. They suffered a not undeserved 2:3 (1:2) home defeat against Viktoria Köln. Serhat Güler (20) and Said El Mala (25) had put Cologne ahead in front of 27,783 spectators. Jakob Lemmer (40) scored the equalizer before the break. Substitute Lex Lobinger scored in the 76th minute. Stefan Kutschke (86) could only reduce the deficit.

Dynamo started without their three new winter signings Dominik Kother (Jan Regensburg), Andi Hoti (1. FC Magdeburg) and Mika Baur (SC Paderborn). However, Kother made his debut after just 21 minutes after Vinko Sapina had to be substituted due to a thigh injury.

Dynamo fail to get a grip on El Mala

At this point, Dynamo were already behind. El Mala had run away from the indisposed Jan Hendrik Marx and failed to beat Schreiber, but Güler slid the rebound into the goal. Almost the same action led to the second goal, only this time the nimble winger of the visitors scored himself.

In the following period, the game developed into a private duel between Lemmer and Cologne goalkeeper Dudu. The Dresden attacker scored once after strong preparatory work from Kother, but twice (4th, 45.+4) he failed to score with good prospects.

Only Lemmer can convince

Lemmer was also the most conspicuous Dresden player in the second half, repeatedly trying to bring pace into the game. This went on for a long time without any highlights between the penalty areas with many inadequacies on both sides. The home side lacked the absolute will to put pressure on Cologne's goal. Instead, Dynamo repeatedly slowed the game down, which allowed Cologne to launch one or two attacks with superior numbers. One of these led to the decision.
