Halle FC have found what they were looking for in a defensive stabilizer. A veteran comes from Braunschweig.

Third division soccer club Hallescher FC has signed Brian Behrendt. The club made the announcement on Monday. The central defender comes to the Saale from second division side Eintracht Braunschweig. The club did not disclose the terms of the transfer or the duration of the contract.

The 32-year-old brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the club. With his height of 1.87 meters, he can also give the HFC defence an advantage in header duels. Born in Lower Saxony, he played for Hamburger SV at the start of his career before moving to Braunschweig via Rapid Vienna and Arminia Bielefeld in January 2021.

"The signing of Brian Behrendt comes at an important time for us, especially in light of the injury to Sebastian Zieleniecki. We are convinced that Brian, with his proven quality over the years, can stabilize our defensive unit," said HFC sporting director Thomas Sobotzik.

The Saxony-Anhalt club are currently at training camp in Belek, Turkey. A test against Turkish second division side Karaman FK is scheduled there on Monday (today) and another match against regional league side Chemnitzer FC on Friday.
