RB Leipzig's new signing Antonio Nusa has trained with his new team-mates for the first time. After signing from Belgian club Brugge on Tuesday, the 19-year-old Norwegian international gave an indication of what the Saxon Bundesliga club can expect from him the following day. Coach Marco Rose will decide whether he can be an alternative for the DFB Cup match at Rot-Weiss Essen on Saturday (3.30pm/Sky).
In any case, sporting director Rouven Schröder emphasized in view of the fact that Nusa still played for Brugge last weekend: "We can use a fit player." Schröder, who quietly completed the €22 million deal without the usual public speculation and thus caused a media surprise, is already full of praise for the new signing.
"Antonio is not a classic inside ten like Dani Olmo, but someone who comes from the right and left side via the wings. He has a lot in the tank and brings a lot to the table," said Schröder in a media conference. Nusa should make an immediate impact at RB. "You don't have to slow anyone down here, if he's good and asserts himself, he'll play. He has the tools and the potential," said the sporting director.
