On Sunday, April 6, 2025, one of the most anticipated soccer matches in the Regionalliga Nordost will take place at the Alfred-Kunze-Sportpark in Leipzig: the classic between BSG Chemie Leipzig and 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig. An increased police presence will be visible in Leipzig from Saturday onwards to ensure public safety. Admission to the stadium begins at 12:00, kick-off is at 14:00.
In connection with this match of the highest security category, the Leipzig Police Directorate is implementing extensive measures. The police will be supported by the Saxon riot police, the Saxony-Anhalt police and the police administration office. A Sensocopter will also be deployed in the stadium area. This is a remote-controlled drone with image transmission technology. Similar to the camera on a police helicopter, the images transmitted to the command staff are used by the police commander to conduct the operation. The service dog squadron and water cannon are also available to provide support if required. The police operation will be carried out in close cooperation with the federal police.
Visitors should be prepared for traffic disruptions in the vicinity of the stadium. However, Leipzig's public transport services will operate as planned. The cooperation with the Federal Police ensures a seamless security chain.
