The number of cases of child endangerment identified in Saxony has risen. According to the State Statistical Office, a total of 3,040 cases of child endangerment were identified in 2023. Compared to the previous year, this was an increase of 9.6 percent.

Slightly fewer child welfare assessment procedures were carried out overall. In around 20 percent of cases, the children were under the age of three. According to the state office, there were mostly signs of neglect.
