On Sunday, book lovers can browse the Leipzig Book Fair for the last time this year. Shortly after the opening on Thursday, the halls of the fair were already well filled, and on Saturday the crowds between the stands of the 2085 exhibitors from 40 countries became even denser.
A total of around 100 events were to take place during the four days of the fair. In addition, there will be around 2,800 events as part of the "Leipzig Reads" reading festival, which traditionally accompanies the trade fair.
A total of around 88,000 visitors attended the first two days of the trade fair, according to the organizers. In 2023, there were 72,000 in this period. Following positive advance sales, an increase in visitor numbers is expected this year. Last year, 274,000 people came to the fair, which is considered one of the most important German literature shows.
