The Leipzig Book Fair opens its doors to visitors on Thursday - German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will also be there for the opening. Around 100 events are planned until Sunday (March 24).

A total of 41 authors will be guests - including Marc-Uwe Kling ("The Kangaroo Chronicles"), Ingrid Noll ("The Apothecary") and Arne Dahl ("Zero equals one"). The official opening of Germany's second-largest book fair after Frankfurt took place on Wednesday evening in Leipzig's Gewandhaus. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) also took part.
