Dynamo Dresden play their last test before the start of the league. The Yellow and Blacks were ultimately beaten by newly promoted Regensburg.

Third division soccer club Dynamo Dresden narrowly lost their dress rehearsal ahead of the league opener. In the final test match of the five-week preparation period, coach Thomas Stamm's newly-formed team lost 2-1 (1-0, 1-1) to newly-promoted SSV Jahn Regensburg after extra time. Christoph Daferner (41') put SGD ahead before Kai Pröger (72') equalized and Eric Hottmann (115') scored the winner for the Jahn team. Extra time had already been agreed beforehand.

In front of a packed crowd at the Arena zur Vogtlandweide in Auerbach, newly re-elected captain Stefan Kuschke initially remained on the bench, while Stamm opted for Robin Meißner and Christoph Daferner up front as expected. The 22-year-old Tim Schreiber started in goal. Tom-Kasper Berger, Kyu-Hyun Park and Tom Zimmerschied were absent through injury.

In total, SGD won four of their seven test matches, with unnecessary defeats against regional league sides Hessen Kassel (1:2) and Chemnitzer FC (0:1). Sunday sees the season opener with the fans at Dresden's Rudolf Harbig Stadium. The 3rd division opener is scheduled for August 4 (1:30 p.m.) at FC Viktoria Köln.
