Investments are an important indicator of how well the economy is doing. Data from 2023 is now available for Saxony, which gives cause for concern.

In 2023, Saxon industry reduced its investments compared to the previous year. Around 3.9 billion euros were invested at that time, 6.2 percent less than in the previous year, according to the State Statistical Office in Kamenz. The data for 2024 is not yet available.

According to the statistics, a good 83.3 percent of the money was invested in machinery and mechanical equipment, 16.4 percent in developed land and 0.3 percent in undeveloped land. The highest amounts of investment were made in the manufacture of motor vehicles and vehicle parts (almost 800 million euros) and in electronic products (751 million euros).
