Despite rising network charges and higher CO2 prices, gas prices for Sachsenenergie customers will remain stable in the upcoming heating period. The company will cover the cost increase for households and small businesses totaling 1.94 cents per kilowatt hour gross, as announced. For an average single-family home with an annual consumption of 18,000 kilowatt hours, this corresponds to a gross saving of around 350 euros per year.
"We are cushioning all additional costs and doing our part to ensure that the supply of gas remains affordable for every household in Saxony," said Sachsenenergie CEO Frank Brinkmann according to the press release. "All our private and small business customers can rest assured that their gas prices will remain stable throughout the winter."
Sachsenenergie claims to be eastern Germany's largest municipal supplier and supplies around 110,000 customers with gas.
