Experts are providing information about pitfalls on the Internet with a special program in Saxony until November 17. The so-called roadshow on cybersecurity started in Dresden on Monday and will make stops in numerous cities over the next few weeks - for example in Torgau, Reichenbach, Hoyerswerda and Freiberg, according to the state chancellery. In the process, computer experts will show how computers and smartphones can be protected against criminals and how to be sparing with data on the net.
"Cyber security is not optional, but an absolutely necessary foundation of an increasingly digital society," stressed Claudia Plattner, president of the Federal Office for Information Security. The goal, she said, is to actively inspire and raise awareness of security issues.
There are 34 events planned. These include two-hour evening events for citizens, as well as offerings specifically for students, teachers, trainees and administrative staff.
