The storm did not hit the Free State of Saxony as hard this weekend as initially feared. Nevertheless, fire departments were called out to hundreds of incidents, as the rescue control centers reported on Sunday. The Zwickau and Vogtland districts were the focal points. There were a total of 150 weather-related operations on Saturday, according to the regional fire department control center on request.

The emergency services were mainly alerted due to flooded cellars, flooded roads and, in some cases, fallen trees. In Crimmitschau, lightning struck a detached house. A 59-year-old woman was slightly injured.

On Saturday, a total of 16 severe weather incidents were registered in the districts of Bautzen and Görlitz. The fire department mainly had to clear roads of mud. According to the Leipzig and Chemnitz police departments, there were no major operations or damage.
