The city harbor in Leipzig is being expanded. For just under 15 million euros, the harbor basin will be built by 2026, as well as a promenade and a pedestrian bridge, as the city announced on Wednesday at the start of the work. In addition, more berths for excursion ships and private boats will be created. The port operator is also building a service building with catering, a canoe house and two small boathouses. From the city harbor, paddlers, canoeists and excursion boats can set off for Leipzig's various waterways.
