BSW presents Kretschmer with Wagenknecht's book for his re-election

The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW) in the Saxon state parliament has presented Minister President Michael Kretschmer with some thought-provoking reading material following his re-election. BSW parliamentary group leader Sabine Zimmermann presented the new and old head of government with a book by Sahra Wagenknecht: "Die Selbstgerechten".

The BSW also gave Kretschmer a rolling pin. The gift refers to a cartoon in the "Stuttgarter Zeitung". It shows Kretschmer looking anxiously from behind a wall in front of the silhouette of Dresden's old town, in front of which Zimmermann is resolutely waiting with a rolling pin. "Bride for Kretschmer?" is the title of the caricature.

Kretschmer had originally wanted to forge a majority government with the BSW and the SPD. The project failed during the exploratory phase. The BSW did not see sufficient agreement on the issues of war and peace, financial policy and migration.
