In Saxony, a coalition between the CDU, BSW and SPD would theoretically be possible. The SPD state chairman is cautious.

Saxony's SPD state leader Henning Homann is "extremely skeptical" about a possible coalition involving the BSW. The BSW's course is extremely unclear and there are major gaps in the Wagenknecht party's election manifesto, especially when it comes to state policy issues, said Homann. One option for a future government in Saxony would be a coalition between the CDU, the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance and the SPD.

A minority government - for example consisting of CDU and SPD with the BSW being tolerated - is also a conceivable option. Homann was also cautious about this. Options that formally exist do not necessarily have to work, he said. However, the SPD is basically ready for talks.
