The automotive industry, education, care or the abolition of road construction contributions occupy the state parliament in Dresden in its second session after the summer break on Thursday. In view of weakening demand for e-cars, the AfD parliamentary group sees around 100,000 jobs in total in the traditional industry in danger and requested a topical debate on the subject. It wants sites such as Zwickau not to be operated exclusively for the production of E-vehicles and pleads for technology openness.
Background are reports of job cuts at Volkswagen's Zwickau plant and the discontinuation of vehicle production at the Transparent Factory in Dresden. The company had then announced that open-ended a detailed package of measures for the implementation of a performance program in the field of passenger cars is being developed.
At the request of the Left Party, there is also to be a discussion about an educational turnaround as well as the financial relief of those in need of care and a "solidary" care insurance. In the questioning of the state government is announced Kultusminister Christian Piwarz (CDU) on the subject of digitization in schools.
