The Saxony State Criminal Police Office (LKA) and the Zwickau public prosecutor's office are investigating a suspected young right-wing extremist. The 16-year-old is suspected of having violated the Weapons Act and of having used symbols of unconstitutional organizations, the LKA announced. On Tuesday evening, the special commission for right-wing extremism (Soko Rex) of the LKA searched several properties in Plauen.
"The accused shared several videos and photos on the Instagram social network account he used, including the handling of a firearm (long gun) and the use of a Molotov cocktail. The videos and several pictures on the account are clearly related to the right-wing extremist scene," it said. Possible evidence in the form of data carriers, cell phones, clothing and a long gun were found during the searches.
Soko Rex is a special unit of the Police Counter-Terrorism and Extremism Centre of the Saxony State Office of Criminal Investigation for combating right-wing extremist crimes.
