The AfD has already emerged victorious twice from federal elections in Saxony. And now, too, it is far ahead in the count.

The AfD is clearly ahead in the federal election in Saxony. After counting 194 of the 420 municipalities, the AfD received 45.7 percent of the second votes, more than twice as many as the CDU (20.9 percent). The 194 municipalities account for 19 percent of eligible voters in the state.

The Left (7.0), the SPD (6.8), the FDP (3.1) and the Greens (2.8) were far behind. The AfD had already won the two previous federal elections in the Free State as the strongest force.
