The Minister Presidents' Conference in December will take place without Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), unlike originally planned. This time, the meeting will take place without the Chancellor, according to a request from the Saxon State Chancellery. The Free State has held the presidency since October 1. Previously, "Politico" had reported that the Chancellor had canceled the meeting planned for 12 December. The news magazine quoted from a letter from Chancellery Minister Wolfgang Schmidt (SPD) to the federal states, stating that urgent decisions could also be made by circular resolution.
Scholz has announced that he will request a vote of confidence in the Bundestag on December 11. Parliament is due to decide on this on December 16.
