Basketball players of Niners Chemnitz remain in top group of BBL

The basketball players of the Niners Chemnitz have established themselves in the top group of the Basketball Bundesliga with the third victory in a row. The charges of coach Rodrigo Pastore defeated BG Göttingen on Sunday with 78:62 (37:28) and thus remain unbeaten on home floor this season. Jonas Richter (17), Kevin Yebo (16), Jeff Garrett (14) and Wesley van Beck (12) had the biggest share in the success. For the Lower Saxons only Deondre Burns (13) and Fedor Zugic (12) could score in double figures.

The initial phase was completely balanced. Then the householder sat down after the 17:17 (10.) with a 8:0 run on 25:17 (12.) and extended the lead until the break still easily. The guests got off to the better start in the second half, cutting the deficit to 45:44 by the 27th minute. However, Chemnitz regained their rhythm on offense, pulled away to 53:45 (29th) and extended their lead to 73:52 by the 36th minute thanks to a furious final spurt. The Lower Saxons despaired of the Saxons' strong defense as the game wore on.
