Former Bundesliga professional Christian Tiffert must leave as coach of regional league soccer team Chemnitzer FC. The club made the announcement today. The CFC started the season with the aim of competing for promotion to the 3rd division. However, after six match days and only one win, the team is third from last. Former RB professional Niklas Hoheneder will take over for Tiffert for the time being.
"We are currently too far away from our goals and urgently need new impetus to get the team and the individual performance of the players back on track as quickly as possible," said sporting director Chris Löwe. On a personal level, he regrets parting ways with Tiffert, who has "led the club through challenging times with great commitment" over the past two and a half years.
Tiffert's assistant coach Hoheneder will be in charge of the team for the time being. The search for a new head coach has already begun. According to the club, the new coach will take charge of the team "at the latest in the next important Regionalliga home game on September 10 against Chemie Leipzig".
