The RB Leipzig women's soccer team can no longer win in the Bundesliga. The Saxons conceded a 3-0 (0-2) defeat against SGS Essen and have now gone five games without a win. Julie Terlinden (13) had put Essen ahead, Annalena Rieke (31) extended the lead before the break. Substitute Ramona Maier (69) scored in front of 807 spectators to make it 3-0 for the visitors, who won for the first time ever against RB.
You could tell that Leipzig were unsettled after the negative experiences of recent weeks. And this became even greater when Terlinden took advantage of a period of deep sleep by the entire RB defense to score her first ever Bundesliga goal. From then on, nothing went forward, while the defense repeatedly made mistakes, just like before the 0:2.
After the break, RB tried to finally get some structure into their own game, but failed to do so. The way Leipzig presented themselves was frightening. Essen disrupted early on and, in the person of Maier, dealt the hosts the final blow
