Dresdner SC's volleyball players won the last main round match of the Bundesliga at VC Wiesbaden with a commanding 3:0 (25:12, 25:17, 25:17). It was already clear beforehand that nothing was at stake for the team in third place in the table at sixth place, but at the same time it was the tune-up for the decisive championship phase.
Because the two teams will face each other again in the play-off quarter-finals in just one week's time. The German cup winners were able to make a clear statement once again with their emphatic success.
Although DSC coach Alexander Waibl rested regular setter Sarah Straube and top scorer Marta Levinska and only deployed them selectively, the Elbe club clearly dictated the action with powerful tasks and a very stable block and court defense. Even when Waibl made further changes, the Hessians were unable to benefit from this because they allowed themselves too many easy mistakes.
Deserved victory
When Wiesbaden initially put up more resistance in the third set and built up a four-point lead, the visitors stepped up their game and secured a deserved victory after just 74 minutes.
