Marco Hartmann will return to Dynamo Dresden in the summer of 2024 as the new head of the youth development center. The former captain and leading player of the Saxons succeeds Jan Seifert, who resigned from his post at the end of August, as the third-division soccer club announced on Tuesday. Hartmann fits because of his "identification with Dynamo, the experience as a professional footballer and his pedagogical training perfectly" on this position, expressed Dynamo's sports director Ralf Becker.

Eight years Hartmann wore the jersey of Dresden and played 146 games for the black and yellow. 2021 he was said goodbye. "I am insanely happy that I will return to Dynamo. I was able to experience the best time of my active soccer career here and I'm looking forward to being able to contribute my wealth of experience and knowledge in the future to the junior team in order to further develop us as a training club," said Hartmann.

His new position will start the 35-year-old on July 1, 2024. Currently, Hartmann is completing his traineeship at the Dresden Sports School.
