RB Leipzig's women's soccer team conceded its second defeat on the third Bundesliga matchday. At last year's third-place finisher Eintracht Frankfurt, Saban Uzun's team lost 1:3 (1:0) on Saturday. In a largely uneventful first half, Lydia Andrade had given the promoted side the lead at Stadion Am Brentanobad (27th minute), with Barbara Dunst equalizing for the hosts after 71 minutes. Laura Freigang brought Frankfurt with a converted Fouleffmeter (86.) in the lead, Carlotta Wamser provided the decision in the injury time (90.+2).
In the first half, the only shot at a goal meant equal to the guest lead. After a quick combination, the ball came to Andrade. The 24-year-old Swiss then had no trouble to finish from about eleven meters. After the change of ends, the Frankfurt women, who had lost their first two games, took command on the field and came to several opportunities.
Rising Leipzig defended sacrificially and shifted to the counterattack game. Leipzig's goalkeeper Elvira Herzog saved her team from possible goals against, but was at the equalizer by the after the change always better playing up haze without a chance. Leipzig substitute Fatma Sakar fouled goalscorer Dunst five minutes before the regular final whistle, international Freigang provided the lead and Wamser completed a counterattack to decide the game.
