German champions SC Magdeburg face TuS N-Lübbecke in the second test of their summer preparations. Without the Olympians around finalist Lukas Mertens, the second victory is on the cards.

German handball champions SC Magdeburg have won their second pre-season test match. Second division side TuS N-Lübbecke defeated the Magdeburg team 31:27 (10:12) in Bernburg. The team, coached by former Magdeburg player Michael Haaß, once again fielded a mixed squad of professionals and third-division talents.

The Magdeburg team will play its next test games at the Wartburg Cup in Eisenach from August 16 to 18. In addition to hosts ThSV Eisenach, VfL Gummersbach and Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold will also take part in the tournament.
