Third division soccer club Dynamo Dresden has been fined 90,000 euros by the sports court of the German Football Association (DFB). The court punished the setting off of 240 pyrotechnic objects before and during the home match against Hallescher FC, which caused injuries to several people. Dynamo can use a third of the fine for security and violence prevention measures.

"We deeply regret and condemn the incidents, especially because their excessive proportions resulted in several slightly injured Dynamo fans, to whom we would like to take this opportunity to apologize once again on behalf of the club. Due to the amount of pyrotechnics set off, we are now facing a severe fine, which is of course incredibly painful in terms of our tight financial planning and goals," the Dynamo committees and management announced in a joint statement. The investigation into the incidents is not yet complete. They are in close contact with fan representatives and security officials.
