RB Leipzig coach Marco Rose has been critical of the large number of games in professional soccer and fears an accumulation of injuries. "We always talk about the international break. But with teams like us, who have over 80 percent internationals. They can't get out of the hamster wheel at all," the 47-year-old said after the 0-0 draw against VfL Bochum. "We've already noticed that there's a lack of freshness at the end." For the current international phase, Leipzig provides twelve professionals.
In the international matches in September, two of the most important Leipziger had injured in playmaker Dani Olmo and captain Willi Orban and have not played a game since then. "The most important thing will be to see how the guys come back. I'm already knocking on wood there," Rose said, looking ahead to the week after next. Olmo and Benjamin Henrichs (muscle fiber tear), who remain in Leipzig, should be fit then.
