The RB Leipzig women's soccer team missed a chance to escape the relegation battle. Coach Saban Uzun's team only managed a 0-0 draw on Friday evening in a clash of promoted teams, meaning RB missed the chance to pull away from the relegation places. Nuremberg remain penultimate with four points. Leipzig are tenth in the table with six points.
The visitors from Franconia got off to the better start. However, Vanessa Haim (9th minute) failed to beat RB keeper Elvira Herzog from close range. Leipzig did not register their first chance until the 36th minute, but Jenny Hipp was offside. OIn the 42nd minute, Nuremberg had another great chance after a misplaced pass from Herzog - but the goalkeeper was able to make up for her mistake and save.
After the changeover, the game remained low-level. Nuremberg had another chance to take the lead through Haim (58'). Leipzig pressed in the final phase, but failed to take advantage of the few chances they had.
