Tyren Johnson has been playing in Europe for seven years. Now he is moving from France to the German Basketball League.

Weißenfels (dpa) -The squad of basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC for the coming season is almost complete. The team from Weißenfels has signed veteran Tyren Johnson for the power forward position. The 36-year-old joins the Wolves for one season from Sluc Nancy, who finished eleventh in the French championship, the club announced. The last vacant position in the MBC line-up is to be filled by an offensively strong shooting guard.

Head Coach Janis Gailitis sees Johnson as a "passionate and experienced winner" who will make a significant contribution to the team mentality. With his enthusiasm, experience and versatility, he will strengthen the team at both ends of the court.

The 2.02-meter-tall new Wolf will start his first Bundesliga season at home against Rostock on September 20 or 21. He spent the past seven seasons in France, the first six of them in Blois.
