Basketball Bundesliga club Syntainics MBC has made its first personnel decisions for the new season. After Head Coach Predrag Krunic was bought out of his contract via an exit clause, Assistant Coach Tomoaki Ikegaya will also leave the club. The MBC made the announcement on Friday. Ikegaya is returning to his native Japan at his own request after a year in Weißenfels.
Players Stephon Jelks and Vince Edwards have no future with the MBC. After two seasons with the club from Weißenfels, Jelks has turned down an improved offer to extend his contract and is looking for a new challenge. In 68 appearances in the league and cup, the wing player averaged 5.9 points and 4.1 rebounds.
Edwards joined the MBC in November 2023 as a late signing. In 21 appearances in the league and cup, the power forward averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds. He will not receive a new offer.
