Oliver Batista Meier was never happy at Dynamo Dresden. Now he is seizing the opportunity and moving to the Bundesliga 2.

Oliver Batista Meier is leaving third-division soccer club Dynamo Dresden to join SSV Ulm 1846. The Dresden club announced that the move is at the player's own request, having received an offer from the second-division club. Meier has played for the Saxons since 2022, but was never really happy. The 23-year-old midfielder was loaned out to SC Verl and Grasshoppers Zurich in just under three years and therefore only made 38 competitive appearances for the Black & Yellows.

"After we received an initial inquiry from Ulm, we went into talks with Oliver. It became clear that he would very much like to seize the opportunity and demonstrate his skills in the Bundesliga 2 as quickly as possible. After an intensive internal evaluation with the coaching team, we jointly decided to make the transfer possible," said Dynamo's sporting director Thomas Brendel.
