Over 600 emergency services were deployed to secure the soccer match. The game ended 0:3. Around 5000 spectators watched the game in the sports park. According to current information, the police registered a few criminal offenses, including damage to property and attempted dangerous bodily harm due to the setting off of pyrotechnics in crowds.
As parts of the fan scenes are rivals and due to past experience of criminal offenses being committed before, during and after the match, the game was classified as a high-risk match. The police department was supported by five hundred Saxon riot police. Water cannons were also present in the area. The Sensocopter transmitted the images to the task force. The Leipzig Federal Police Inspectorate carried out its own operation with a focus on the main station and regional traffic.
Until the start of the match, there were no significant disturbances apart from damage to property in the form of graffiti on the stadium wall of the sports park. During the match, fans of both teams set off pyrotechnics in the stadium. In addition, mobile toilets were smeared with graffiti and several fence panels of the stadium barrier were damaged. During the match, a garbage can and a mobile toilet also caught fire. The fire department extinguished the fire. There have been no disruptions so far during the departure phase.
