The Dresden SC volleyball team clearly lost the top match at Allianz MTV Stuttgart 0:3 (18:25, 19:25, 24:26). With their third defeat against the defending champions, Alexander Waibl's charges lost important points in the battle for the top of the table.
The hosts, who were back with top star Krystal Rivers after the defeat in Suhl, clearly dictated proceedings in the first two sets. In contrast, the DSC women were unable to find their rhythm in front of 1934 spectators. Above all, Stuttgart's pressure-packed tasks caused problems for the Elbe club. Their reception wobbled and their build-up play and attacking game suffered as a result.
It was not until the third period that Waibl's side stabilized and quickly opened up a six-point lead thanks to a series of serves by Viktoria Demidova. Dresden also improved its blocking and court defense, but the home side fought its way back into the game, especially through Rivers (21 points). And the diagonal attacker also scored the decisive points in crunch time. After 81 minutes, the DSC's fourth Bundesliga defeat was sealed
