Ali Loune from third-division soccer club FC Erzgebirge Aue caused a traffic accident while under the influence of alcohol. The club confirmed this on request. The Chemnitz police department announced that a 22-year-old drove his off-road vehicle off the road in Zschorlau on Wednesday evening, drove through a front garden and crashed into the wall of a house. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.8 per mille. The "Tag 24" portal first reported on the incident.
According to the police, property damage totaling around 43,000 euros was caused. No one was injured. His driver's license was confiscated and a complaint was filed for endangering road traffic, according to the police, who did not give his name.
A spokesperson for FC Erzgebirge confirmed that Loune, who is on loan from 1. FC Nürnberg, was uninjured in the accident. He had already trained on Thursday. An internal club punishment, such as a suspension, is currently not planned.
