Before the season, RB Leipzig introduced a minimum usage of season tickets. This should lead to the club issuing fewer season tickets in the future.

RB Leipzig intends to reduce the number of its season tickets by several thousand. In response to a dpa inquiry, the Bundesliga club announced that it is aiming to sell just 25,000 season tickets. In addition, there are around 1,500 VIP season tickets. There are currently 28,500 season tickets in circulation, compared to 32,000 in the previous season.

The reduction is also to be achieved by withdrawing tickets from fans who do not meet the minimum usage requirement. This season, season ticket holders must be in the stadium for ten of the 17 Bundesliga home matches. Passing on tickets via the ticket exchange does not count towards the minimum usage requirement. Currently, around 25,000 season tickets have reached the minimum usage threshold, with the matches against Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart remaining.

Already 2,500 fans on waiting list

In future, season tickets will be allocated via a waiting list, where 2,500 fans are already registered according to the club. Among other things, fewer season tickets should reduce the no-show rate. In the current season, almost ten percent of fans do not attend a match despite having purchased a ticket.

The club is also planning further improvements for fans. For example, there will be flexible ticket packages. Fans will be able to choose one match from each of three match categories and put together their own mini season ticket.
