Important repair work is imminent on the Nossen Bridge in Dresden, which will require a temporary full closure of the structure. From Friday, October 18, 2024, to Sunday, October 20, 2024, extensive renovation work will be carried out. This will involve renewing weld seams on the steel structure of the bridge and renovating the road drains on the carriageway in the direction of Südvorstadt.
In order to minimize the impact on traffic, the welding work will be carried out at night from 10 pm to 5 am. Nevertheless, a full closure of the bridge is unavoidable during certain periods. The roadway in the direction of Südvorstadt will be closed continuously from October 18 at 10 pm until October 20 at 10 pm. Traffic heading towards Löbtau will be closed at night from 10 pm to 5 am.
The detours are signposted and the city recommends that all road users allow extra time for their journeys. The aim of the work is to ensure the safety and usability of the Nossen Bridge in the long term.
