The first snowflakes of autumn fell on the Fichtelberg mountain on Sunday. At a temperature of minus one degree, the area in the Ore Mountains was "lightly sugared," said a spokesman for the German Weather Service (DWD) in Leipzig. On car roofs or meadows, the snow also remains for a while.

For the next day, the DWD predicted autumn-cool weather in Saxony. The maximum temperatures range around ten degrees, in the mountains slightly below. Especially in the night to Wednesday, there is a risk of frost. With probably clear skies, especially the lower elevations are at risk of frost.
