Dresden has been celebrating a big Stollen Festival for three decades. The stollen bakers have gone to great lengths to ensure that a giant stollen can once again take center stage.

Preparations for the Dresden Stollen Festival are in full swing: Stollen bakers have baked the slabs for the giant Striezel, which is set to take center stage at the festival in December.

According to the Dresden Stollen Association, the XXL Striezel will first be presented in a parade through the old town on December 7 and then cut and sold by the piece. As in the previous year, a 500-gram piece will cost ten euros. Most of the proceeds will be donated to a good cause.
