The city of Dresden has caught significantly more speeders speeding with mobile speed cameras. People were speeding at one location in particular.

With mobile speed cameras, the city of Dresden caught significantly more traffic offenders in 2024 than in the previous year. The number of offences rose from 27,285 to 42,371, according to the city. Compared to the previous year, the mobile speed cameras were used much more frequently, it was reported.

According to the data, stationary speed cameras caught a total of 81,886 drivers speeding. In the previous year, the figure was slightly higher at 86,688 violations.

Record in 2024: cars speeding at over 100 kilometers per hour

The system on Güntzstraße near a retirement home was triggered most frequently - around 18,000 people were speeding there, according to the city. The location had already been the sad front-runner in 2023. A car was speeding at more than 100 kilometers per hour in Potthoffstraße. Instead of the permitted 50, the driver was traveling at 158 km/h - the highest speed limit in 2024.

The authorities recorded 180,252 violations involving parked vehicles, almost 10,000 more than in the previous year, while also carrying out more checks. The city's budget received 4.75 million euros from parking violations, while moving traffic violations generated 9 million euros for the city.
