Sachsenlotto presents business figures in Chemnitz - 12 new millionaires in the Free State
Sächsische Lotto-GmbH (SLG) has presented its annual results for 2024. It not only presented impressive figures, but also announced a realignment of the Sachsenlotto brand. Particularly pleasing: with 12 new millionaires, the number of lucky players doubled compared to previous years.
Record winnings and rising stakes
In 2024, a total of €169.7 million was paid out to winners in Saxony. One player from the district of Görlitz was particularly lucky, winning €4,697,022 in LOTTO 6aus49 in April. A top prize of 4,243,653 euros also went to a player from Saxony in the Eurojackpot. The total stakes were 342.2 million euros - on average, every Saxon invested 83.69 euros in the lottery game.
New brand image and digitization of sales outlets
Michael Kunze, Campaign Manager at Sachsenlotto, presents the company's realignment. SLG is being strategically realigned and is continuing to develop. In future, SLG will be positioned as an umbrella brand, while Sachsenlotto will act as a retail brand. The new claim "Zum Glück gibt's uns" is intended to strengthen the company's self-image. The Sachsenlotto brand will also be modernized visually. In addition, the retail outlets are to become more digital and develop into real places of experience in order to promote interaction with customers.
Lottery trends: classic and digital formats are growing
LOTTO 6aus49 remained the most popular lottery with total sales of €159.9 million and a market share of 46.7%. The Eurojackpot recorded strong growth of 33% to 84.7 million euros. The scratch-card segment developed particularly dynamically with sales of 37.4 million euros. Sachsenlotto also recorded growing digital interest: Online stakes rose by 18.9% to €44.8 million.
€124 million for the common good in Saxony
In addition to prize payouts, Sachsenlotto makes a significant contribution to funding charitable projects in the state. 124 million euros flowed into the state budget, of which 63.6 million euros came from net proceeds and 59.3 million euros from lottery tax. Funding was provided to the Saxon State Sports Association (€13.56 million), charities (€1.32 million) and music schools (€3.46 million), among others.
