Dresden's funicular railroad is back in operation. After the annual spring inspection, the TÜV has certified that the technical monument is in good condition, as announced by the Dresden transport company. The funicular will be running again from Saturday (April 5).
During the inspection, pieces were cut off at both ends of the wire rope and recast, it was reported. Experts also repaired cracks in the flooring and the emergency power generator was tested.
The funicular runs between Körnerplatz and the Weißer Hirsch district and covers a height difference of 95 meters over a length of around 550 meters. The neighboring suspension railroad started operating again at the end of March after the inspection.
