A truck driver has left the road on the A4 near Bautzen. His 13-year-old passenger was slightly injured, according to the police. The Bautzen-Ost junction will therefore remain closed until at least midday.
On Thursday evening, the 43-year-old driver veered off the single-lane carriageway to the left in the area of a roadworks site for reasons as yet unknown, a police spokeswoman said. The truck first collided with the concrete safety barrier and then veered even further to the left. According to the information provided, the driver hit the crash barrier before the truck came to a halt. The driver was uninjured.
The A4 in the direction of Görlitz was fully closed for an hour. The left lane was then diverted past the accident. Material damage is estimated at 120,000 euros.
