Patience is still required for travelers on the Munich-Berlin ICE route. An interlocking fault on the route between Nuremberg and Bamberg is still causing delays and cancellations, said a Deutsche Bahn spokeswoman. ICE trains on the route from Munich via Nuremberg and Erfurt to Berlin/Leipzig are affected.
The trains cannot stop in Erlangen and Bamberg and are being rerouted. As a result, passengers should expect up to 120 minutes of additional travel time, according to Deutsche Bahn. IC trains on the route between Karlsruhe and Leipzig - via Stuttgart and Nuremberg - are canceled between Nuremberg and Leipzig.
Employees are working flat out to rectify the fault. The problem with the interlocking has existed since Friday. The spokeswoman was initially unable to provide any information on the causes of the disruption.
