More than 2000 Deutsche Telekom employees went on a day-long warning strike on Wednesday to press for their demands.

More than 2,000 Deutsche Telekom employees went on a day-long warning strike in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia on Wednesday, according to the union. "We have clearly exceeded expectations," said union secretary Enrico Zemke in the afternoon.

Even after the second round of negotiations, no offer had been made. The employers had not responded to Verdi's demands. Accordingly, the warning strike affects 19 of the 22 Telekom companies in the three federal states.

Verdi is demanding a pay rise of twelve percent for the 70,000 employees of the Telekom Group nationwide, but at least 400 euros per month, with the collective agreement running for one year. In addition, training allowances and the salaries of dual students are to be increased by EUR 185 per month.

In addition to cancellations of appointments in the service or computer help departments, the strike is expected to slightly delay the expansion of the network.
