Former cycling star Jan Ullrich (51) is set to take part in the European Peace Ride (EPR) as part of the City of Chemnitz's Capital of Culture year. The cycling legend will ride the final 167-kilometre stage from Usti nad Labem in the Czech Republic to Chemnitz on 13 September, the EPR organizers announced.
The European Peace Ride connects the two European Capitals of Culture Nova Goriza in Slovenia and Chemnitz in Saxony during the European Capital of Culture year 2025. The main edition of the EPR will start on September 11, 2025 in Passau, Bavaria. The route leads over 510 kilometers and 6,550 meters of altitude difference and the cities of Plzeň and Usti nad Labem to Chemnitz.
