The Christian churches want to make their voices heard and seen in the Bundestag elections. Under the motto "For all. With heart and mind", they are calling on the population to strengthen democracy by actively participating in elections, according to the dioceses of Dresden-Meißen and Görlitz and the Protestant Church of Saxony. The focus is on the values of human dignity, charity and cohesion.
According to the churches, this message will be conveyed to the public nationwide with social media campaigns, posters, banners, postcards, badges and a website (fuer-alle.info). "The central logo shows an (electoral) cross in conjunction with the slogan 'For all. With heart and mind' - a clear commitment to democracy and a call to counter extremist positions," it said.
The initiative started in Saxony, where a state election was held in 2024 in addition to the local and European elections. The campaign is now to be rolled out nationwide for the federal elections on February 23. Numerous regional churches, dioceses and other church partners have announced that they will join the initiative, the initiators explained.
