In connection with the manipulated ballot papers in Dresden, further attempts at fraud have been discovered in Saxony. According to the police, there are now 130 manipulated ballot papers. The police also have 14 forged ballot papers from two constituencies in the district of Radeberg in the south-west of the Saxon district of Bautzen. In Dresden, there were also 17 further manipulated ballot papers from different constituencies. In all of the manipulated postal ballot papers, unknown persons had taped over the cross and marked the right-wing extremist minor party Freie Sachsen instead. The State Office of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation.
In the morning, the police announced that they had begun an investigation into suspected electoral fraud. According to the report, around 100 ballot papers were manipulated in two Dresden constituencies. The State Security Department took over the investigation and reportedly seized two manipulated ballot papers. The "Sächsische Zeitung" had previously reported.
The Free Saxons are classified by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as a right-wing extremist organization.
