Saxony's SPD leader Henning Homann sees the formation of a minority government with the CDU as an opportunity to put the issue at the center of attention. "We need a new political culture in Saxony," he said in Dresden at the presentation of the joint coalition agreement.
If you want to reunite the country, you have to be a role model yourself. The government and opposition would have to move away from their rituals of always being against each other. "Then you also have to shake hands." The coalition agreement on which the CDU and SPD have agreed provides for a consultation mechanism to integrate the positions of the parliamentary groups in the state parliament.
The coalition agreement had already incorporated many suggestions from the state parliament and from the exploratory talks with the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW), said Social Affairs Minister Petra Köpping. As examples, she cited the topic of climate change from the Greens, which was also included in the title of a ministry, the round tables from the Left and a model project on so-called village caretakers from the BSW.
