According to Social Affairs Minister Petra Köpping, the health authorities in Saxony do a valuable job in protecting the health of the population. The work of the offices often goes unnoticed, which is inappropriate, the SPD politician announced on Monday. For this reason, the key role of the offices in maintaining public health will be highlighted at the open day on Tuesday (March 19). "Because the offices form the backbone of the population's health," emphasized Köpping.
In Saxony, there are a total of 13 health authorities in the districts and independent cities. Around 1,400 employees provide advice, prevention and monitoring in areas such as health promotion, hygiene monitoring, infection control, addiction counseling, mental and sexual health, water quality, heat protection and environmental medicine.
